New Brakes!

During our pre-ride of CCCX round numero uno, the ride stopped and talk turned towards bikes and parts (imagine that!). Greg and CB were contemplating various bikes, components and the usual rubbish involving gram crackers, teddy grams, grammas and maybe even bicycle components...by the gram, of course!

Normally, my uninformed self just sits on the sidelines and listens, in an effort to perhaps learn something, or maybe I just enjoy sitting there looking dumb (that's for you to decide). However, on this particular occasion the conversation turned towards brakes. Now, this is a subject I have an opinion on!

After rattling off variations of juicy magura girls avidly seeking skinny bikers who barely have enough muscle to squeeze the brake levers hard enough to initiate a stopping reaction, I simply interjected:

"Well, of course Formula Disc Magura Oro, Rim mounted brakes may be lite, BUT, nothing offers the unruly stopping power and anemic gram count of DYF brakes."

After further clarification, CB (as often times happens on group rides) asked "Who invited this Butler guy to the party anyway?"...who knows. But if you know what those brakes are, then good for you! If not, ask Greg or CB, they already have a set on order...
